Toni Bou Wins 11th Consecutive FIM Trial World Championship Title

September 11, 2017 - HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) contract rider and Honda factory team (Repsol Honda Team) rider Toni Bou has won the 2017 FIM* Trial World Championship. He has clinched his 11th consecutive title by taking second place in the Czech Republic Grand Prix on September 10.

Since clinching his first world championship title in 2007 on HRC’s Montesa COTA 4RT factory bike, Bou increases his unparalleled consecutive championship titles to 11. He has also won his 11th consecutive X Trial World Championship, an indoor competition raced on artificially prepared sections.

By the end of this season’s Round 7, the TrialGP Czech Republic, he had won an overwhelming 7 of 9 trials, and finished second and third once. His championship victory comes before the season’s final round in Italy on September 17.

Toni Bou
“Today was a complicated day from the beginning. I battled to win the trial but today was not to be, although the aim today had been to get the title. I am very happy despite several issues. The wet terrain we found today is not really the one I like the most, or one that favours the bike best, but we fought hard to finish on the podium. This season has been a very good one, the first victory in Camprodón and the two in Japan, where Adam Raga lost points, have been important, as well as the two victories in the United States.”

Yoshishige Nomura, HRC President
“I would like to thank Toni, Team staff, and the sponsors and Trial fans all over the world. Following his already outstanding record, Toni’s 11th consecutive title was made possible through even more hard work by him, and the team. HRC will continue conducting racing activities in a way that will bring fun and excitement to motorsports fans.”
